Hops for Hope Presents Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County with a check for $2,772.
Hops for Hope Iowa made us not only hop, but jump, skip, and shout for joy when they chose Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County as their charity of choice for November. The group donated $1 for every Backpocket Brewing beer purchased during the month at participating venues – a gift that added up to $2,772!
This gift funds 215 hours of mentoring for local youth facing adversity. This means the children of Johnson County are more likely to stay in school, to achieve higher levels of education than previously imagined, to avoid risky behaviors like drug or alcohol abuse, and to report better relationships with their families. These are just a few of the long-lasting benefits that research has revealed of having a professionally-supported Big Brother or Big Sister.
A huge thank you goes out to 7G Distributing, Backpocket Brewing, 30hop, Blackstone, Vesta, Reds Alehouse, Pullman Bar & Diner, Atlas, Donnelly’s Pub Iowa City, Joe’s Place Iowa City, Big Grove Brewery & Taproom Iowa City, Mosley’s, and Tin Roost!
Please patronize these establishments and let them know how much you appreciate their support of local kids and families through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County. And like and follow Hops for Hope Iowa on Facebook to learn about their ongoing work to support local charities!
